    This says it all.

    "
CF: Coach Rhoads said that he expects the wide receivers to make more plays this season. Why is that?

DD: We have more depth. There is more pride about the group than there used to be. People have called us out on several occasions, whether it be our own team, our coaches or even fans saying that we aren’t playing up to our capabilities. Now we’re taking it personally. It is going to show this season."

If your coaches and teammates are calling you out then it is time to step up to the plate and deliver.

Personally I think it was time to step up before your coaches and teammates were calling you out.
When they say things like, "Now we are taking it personally", I think to myself, how were you taking it before then? As no big deal?

I agree... but the fact of the matter is that he is devoted to improving his game and ready for the coming season

My thoughts exactly. I hope like hell that this offense proves me wrong but I have seen very little that makes me optimistic about this year on that side of the ball. Our WR play has been bad for a couple years and no one has stepped it up except Horne. Darks and Reynolds have been consistently inconsistent and Lenz just got beat out. We have three QBs fighting for the starting position which tells me no one is standing out. One of those is a QB that has been average in games as a starter. Another has only started at the QB level for a year and the third is a RSFr that hasn't been given as many snaps as the other two. We replace one of our best OL who will be in an NFL camp and a 3 year starter as well as our top two receiving threats. Again, I hope like hell that I am wrong. I hope Reynolds has a break out year, Horne is a great improvement and Darks goes back to his Fr form with fewer drops. I hope Jantz is the second coming of Seneca, and I hope the OL is improved.

I didn't like that answer, either, but maybe it answered a few things.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.

I pretty pumped to see what Darks and Money can do this year. Messingham moves over to WR's from TE's, lets see if his coaching combined with the speed we have available equates to a breakout season. Oh yeah lets hope the QB who ever ends up being #1 gets the ball there.

If ISU wants to do well this year it is going to fall on the WR's shoulders.

Falls on the QB imo. I don't think the WR's are going to have trouble catching this year. I just hope we have someone who can get it to them, or not overthrow them. Got to have someone who can put it on the money. IMO, See: Steele Jantz.

I'm curious to see if Mike Leach spending time with the offensive coaches this offseason has any positive affect on our offense, and particularly the receivers improving their "yac".

They have had a lot of trouble getting of the line of scrimmage and getting open. I think that has been the problem more than the QB's accuracy. We have a 6'6" WR who is probably the fastest guy on the field most of the time. He played special teams all last year. I think Donnie Jennert is going to emerge this year or next as a real weapon.

I've been a fan of Donnie since we signed him. He needs to step up this year and make his name known. Jennert has speed and great hands. I just hope Rhoads gives him a chance ON the field this year.
