You know it's bad when you "seek" two years of probation.

Re: More trouble for OU MBB

They are already on probation because of Kelvin Sampson, so it'll be interesting to see whether the NCAA cracks down on them, or gives them the Ohio State treatment.

Personally, I don't understand how they don't get severe penalties for this. If you commit major violations while you are on probation, and don't get a severe punishment, then what is the point of probation?

Under NCAA bylaws, a "repeat violator" can face a minimum of having the sport dropped for one or two seasons with no scholarships provided for two seasons.
I would be very interested to see this happen. No OU basketball for one year would really teach them a lesson. And make our conference schedule a little easier with only 16 games.

That is exactly the kind of situation where it should be hammer-time.

Lining up cash to help a recruit take care of his own entrance responsibilities is already shaky (at best), but who needs $3000 for transcripts?

This should be cut-and-dried and quite brutal.

There is always double secret probation.

This is exactly like what happened with Mcdermott and Lucca a few years back. Remember all of the money he got? Don't you guys remember?

I don't know how their AD, Castiglione can not take some heat for this.

Maybe put all their games on the Longhorn Network this year as punishment

Awe. Too bad Sooners. Looking forward to Fred taking it to them for years to come. Much like Larry did in the early 2000s

Basketball, football, men's and women's gymnastics, now basketball again. Does the term lack of institutional control start to make sense at some point here?

Re: More trouble for OU MBB

Ok, I knew OU had some problems but now with all of this can anyone sum up how bad things are at OU?

How long are the looking at probation for with all of this new stuff?

This should be easy for the NCAA. Most of the time punishments aren't handed out because they can't prove anything and can't force anyone to testify(see USC/tOSU/Cam Newton) but they have all the facts in this case.

OU has had more little violations than most schools. The NCAA needs to drop the hammer. I hope they don't remove the basketball team. Hopefully they take some schollies away so we can still get Ws

Those "W's" might not help us that much though if OU has a 200 RPI by then.
