    Yanda

Wow, Marshall Yanda just signed a huge contract with the Ravens. This bodes well for offensive linemen coming out of college in the next few years.

Saw that. Seems like he was kind of an after thought, late season recruit from a JC that ISU and Iowa went after. Never thought he would get a $30 mil contract some day.

    Re: Yanda

I think we will see OL increase in pay in the next few years. I think with the large move to spread systems in college and different type of linemen, there will be a premium on the NFL type linman.

    Or so I have read.

Had a class with Yanda when we were students at NIACC. Hoped the Bears would have signed him.

Marshall Yanda's mention always reminds me of this...

    A young Rashawn Parker.

    Re: Yanda

Rashawn Parker was never the same after that hit. Yanda was a good player that Mac was in on first. KF offered when it looked like he was going to ISU. The good thing is that we're getting to the point where in-state kids like Barkely Hill take the ISU offer vs waiting for iowa to offer. Heck, ISU could have had Malloy if they wanted him.

This is where I prefer things in terms of in-state recruiting. It's healthier for the rivalry. I don't want it to get to the point where it's an honest to God battle for a recruit, but I like seeing ISU get the guys that they get in on first. If Rhoads and Co. beats Iowa to the punch on an in-state kid, then by all means he should have them unless the kid is some kind of die-hard Iowa fan or looking to go out of state.
