I wish the Big XII had proactive commissioner like him but nope, Beebe is just going to sit on his hands.

This wins the "No **** captain obvious" award.

Conferences have been expanding and contracting for over a century, no reason to believe they will stop now.

I eagerly await more details though. I'm not sure, outside of Texas, what markets the PAC 10 could add and be financially profitable at 16. Without Texas, the PAC 10 would probably just be splitting the pie more ways.

Is the Pac 12 REALLY going to invite Boise? TCU? Nevada? New Mexico? Guess I don't see how they could make money at 16 unless they somehow get Texas to change their minds. I guess MAYBE Kansas makes some sense if they can get the P12N on basic in KC.

    1. Beebe can only do what the schools let him do.
    2. Even if the schools authorize seeking expansion, from the POV of the big 12, if youre facing potential turndowns, you do things quietly, behind the scenes. The official word, expanding or not, will be 'we're not seeking expansion' up until the day we invite another team. You dont say youre looking to expand and then either say nothing (implying that expansion efforts failed) or worse, face a public turndown from universities youre talking to.

Larry Scott can go **** himself. It is evil administrators like him and Jim Delaney that will ruin college athletics when all is said and done and for what.... to generate a little more revenue for the filthy rich institutions that are members of their conferences? Very sad.

Larry Scott will do what the television executives allow him to do, nothing more, nothing less. Wish that mouthy **** would have stayed in womens tennis or golf or whatever hole they pulled him out of.

It took you 14 months to wrap your head around that idea? They also have the goal of making the P12 a global brand and have dreams of holding NCAA events in Asian markets.

Larry Scott is everything wrong with college sports and I can't wait for the day that he gets knocked back down to where he belongs.

I want the Big XII to expand soon and go to 16 teams. Send invites to Louisville, BYU, Air Force, New Mexico, Cincinnati, and Memphis right now

**** Larry Scott, let's beat him at his own game

Do that and you can say goodbye to Texas A&M and Oklahoma.... followed by Texas and possibly Missouri.

Maybe I don't understand the whole picture but why would they be opposed to that? It's not like we're gonna flip over to revenue sharing a la the B1G.

If anything, it would set the table for a Big XII network nicely, bringing in a lot of new markets... meaning more money for OU/TAMU/UT/Mizzou/everybody.

But maybe I am missing something so fill me in (honestly).

It's called quality over quantity. The majority of the schools you named would weaken the conference substantially.

Again I am missing how this would lower the revenue for any Big XII program. And as we have seen that is pretty much the only thing that matters to a program like UT.

It seems to me like this would raise the money for everyone, and make the Big XII Network extremely attractive with its presence in some big markets.
