Certainly there is no hunting like the hunting of man and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it, never really care for anything else thereafter.

    Great article. Thanks for posting!

Wow, I didn't realize he didn't have ANY scholarship offers out of HS. This guy is dedicated and has put in some work. I just wish we didn't have to wait until 2012 to see him play.

can't really blame any coaches for "missing" on a 6'3" high school kid who wasn't very good. then as a juco, he wants to redshirt, which makes it tough since most schools recruiting juco need immediate help.

he's going to have a huge year for us, just like WJ did for syracuse.

I watched him play a lot during his 2 years at Marshalltown. He's the real deal. I never understood why ISU offered DeMarcus Phillips before Will but at least we have him now. He's a great kid with a great future at ISU.

The nice thing we now have going on is that all five players on the court bring something to the game, they are not just fillers. Before we had one or two people to depend on carrying the team. No longer.

That was another McDermott recruiting blunder.

Fred is off to a great start in recruiting. As long as we stay healthy, the schedules for the next two years should have a lot of Ws on them.

if you re-read the article, clyburn wanted to redshirt. gmac needed immediate help, and wasn't going to get it from clyburn reshirting. of course, you could argue he could've signed him and then told him he was playing anyway.

Another Wes Johnson story. He may turn out to be the best transfer in CFH`s 1st two years here(maybe longer). That is a great story....thanks for sharing.

Clyburn didn't redshirt at Utah so is this redshirt stuff fact? Why did he not go to ISU because he couldn't redshirt and then not redshirt at Utah?

Great story indeed. Alot of respect to a guy who maybe didn't get as much love from coaches early in his career and has worked his way into a good situation.

"I had no idea I was going to have that much success at Utah in my first season," Clyburn said. "When I first signed there, my intent was to redshirt. When they decided to not redshirt me I just came out and played my game and I felt real comfortable."

Hey I agree not offering Clyburn was idiotic - he scored 54 pts and proved he was a completely different player. But he definitely wanted to redshirt, so if you're a coach desperate for immediate help, do you use a scholly on a kid who plans to redshirt?

I actually remember watching the bball scrimmage at hilton before isu/iowa in 2009 - everyone was overanalyzing the supposed spat between barnes and dendy, but i wanted to know who the kid was that had some sweet dunks and a nice shot. the kid? Clyburn.
