    Osemele

Who was the lead recruiter on Osemele ---- I read the ESPN article that says he could be our First 1st round draft choice since 1973 (Matt Blair?). Not sure that is right either -- I thought OL Keith Sims went to Miami in the first round and that was later than 1973. Anyone remember??

No one on the current staff. I believe it was McFarland.

The only 1st rounder ISU has had was Amundson, who was playing for Johnny Majors. He was a running QB(drafted as a RB I believe).

You like Chizik. We get it. He was (and still is) a good recruiter.

I forgot about George that would be the 1973 -- but people were all over Keith Sims.......as I recall he was 330 and nimble. Played a lot of years in NFL. Also thought Blair was a 1st rounder. I also thought Osemeke came in from Jr college ....... and the cheezewhiz never crossed my mind. Could we look ahead please, I'm over it..............take CPR anyday.

Nothing in anything he said had anything to do with Chizik. The OP asked who recruited Osemele. McFarland did.

The only reason he asked it is so someone would say he was recruited by Chizik. You obviously don't know about rebacy's obsession.

    Re: Osemele

I think the more important thing is....we need about 10 guys like KO in every class. Not necessarily first rounders, but guys that we beat out teams like TCU, Missouri, and even Houston. He is exactly the type of guy we have to get more of.

Matt Blair (1974) and Keith Sims (1990) were both second round picks.

Blair and Sims were both second rounders. I believe the Vikes first choice that year was the other linebacker, Fred McNeil.

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.
    (They just disappear offseason)
