    Time to be proactive

If **** is about to hit the fan, why not this?

Let's form an alliance with Mizzou, KU, and Syracuse. Let's then pitch that to the Big 10 as a package deal for the Big 10 to be the first super conference. That would bring tons of new TV sets, KU basketball, Syracuse basketball, and ISU's cultural fit, not to mention a program on the rise in Mizzou football.

I know, I am dreaming, but who cares....

I see no way that adding these four teams to the Big Ten increase the revenue per team that the Big Ten teams presently make, or can make in a new TV deal without these four team, thus there is no incentive for the Big Ten to make this deal.

Outside of Notre Dame, I don't think anyone adds to the Big 10's take.

I'm sure we have a contingent plan, my guess that it looks quite a bit different than that.

It is all talk at this point! OU and TAMU have not publicly spoke of their stance (if any) on all of this. For all we know (as fans) it could be just disgruntled fans of the respective teams or even media blowing up nothing. Once I hear the Universities come out and say they want out, then we need to look for options.

I really couldn't care less what conference we're in as long as it's AQ (and I think it will be). Outside of the SEC, there isn't a single existing conference that's more difficult than the one we're in. I understand our contingent plan won't make as much money (most likely) but it will likely be more competitive, which might help us grow revenue from a fan support standpoint.

    How bout this....
Get the scoreboard, the new coaching/training facility, the bowled in endzone....then go DOMINATE a 12 team Big East.

Lets also only play Iowa every other year.

None of the 4 bring 20 million in tv revenue for the big 10.

    Re: Time to be proactive

If the Big Ten wants further expansion, they're going eastward. That's where new territory, population and TV sets are. Notre Dame obviously is always out there as the holy grail and the first team to get an invite if interested. If they would need one more team to get to 16, they might look at Missouri for close proximity and K.C. and St. Louis TV markets

Adding Nebraska probably added what.... 50,000 TV sets? Can't be many more TV sets than that in that barren wasteland, is there? ;)

This. Join the Big East, win conference titles then when the realignment things comes around again in 5 years we can have a say. I will say this, people dog the Big East, but their members are not constantly looking for other avenues. And don't bring up money because NO ONE knows what the money will look like with ISU, Mizzou, Baylor, KU and KSU in the league.

Also am I the only one that thinks the Big East saw this all coming when they invited TCU to the conference? Add a natural rival for Baylor in the the new Big West division of the Big East with ISU, KU, Baylor, Mizzou, KSU and TCU.
