    Garrett Green?

Garrett Green has announced that he is going to forgo his senior season at LSU because he is graduating August 5th. He has 1 year of eligibility left, anyway we could still land this kid. He would be able to participate in the 11-12 season and would give us some experience and size in the middle. 6-10 averaged 6.5pts and 6.6 rebounds last year for LSU. This could bump this team up to another level, whats our scholarship scenerio like as of right now?

    Re: Garrett Green?

Meh, to me that would be a big gamble. We seem to be having some pretty good luck with recruiting right now and that scholly could get used for someone with more time to help us.

    Re: Garrett Green?

Don't we have an open scholarship for this upcoming year that probably won't be filled? It would then be available for 2012-2013.

Yes, so I say we should try and get him. I don't see the downside.

I'm perfectly okay with trying to bring him in. We have an open scholarship for this upcoming season which won't be used at all at this point. This guy sounds like a Jake Anderson type situation where he can play immediately and open back up his scholarship for 2012. Plus, we need big men this year. I say there is nothing to lose here. Why not? Might as well not waste an unused shcolarship unless there is a better player out there with the exact same type situation.

    Re: Garrett Green?

I see no reason not to pursue a player like this if we are going to have a free scholarship just laying around.

    Re: Garrett Green?

The gamble there is pretty much zero. Depth inside is definitely an issue with Godfrey gone. Signing a kid like this might even allow them to redshirt Gibson. I'd be all for it.

Agree. FH has repeatedly stated his plan is to do as well as possible the first two years to set-up future recruiting. Another big body with experience would fit into that plan well.

Only possible downside is that he might miss the trip to Europe.

6-10. Sounds good. We may need the depth when we go NCAA tourney bound.

    Re: Garrett Green?

Heck yes i would take him. Then we can RS Railey and maybe even Gibson. It is worth a gamble since we have a scholarship available. Plus you never know when there will be an injury and you never know if Booker is the real deal because he wasn't at Southern Illinois.
