SALES BRISK FOR IOWA STATE TICKET PACKAGES

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State football fans waiting to purchase their 2011 season tickets might want to act soon in light of the school announcing Tuesday that only “singles” remain for two of its price levels at Jack Trice Stadium.

Additionally, there are fewer than 1,000 tickets remaining in the Cardinal Reserved area (Sections B, L, 2 and 18), where season tickets cost $225 each.

The sections with “single” tickets only are the South End Zone (Sections AA, BB, CC, DD, EE and South Field) and Gold Reserved (Sections A, K, 1 and 17) areas.

The Iowa State Athletics Ticket Office also announced that the sales date for single-game tickets for the Northern Iowa (Sept. 3) and Iowa (Sept. 10) games has been changed to Aug. 16. It was originally set for Aug. 2.

Single-game tickets to Big 12 games against Texas (Oct. 1), Texas A&M (Oct. 22), Kansas (Nov. 5) and Oklahoma State (Nov. 18) will go on sale Sept. 13. A mini-pack including games against the Aggies, Jayhawks and Cowboys will also be on sale starting Sept. 13 for $75 each.

Fans may purchase tickets by visiting cyclones.com or calling the athletics ticket office at 515-294-1816 locally or 1-888-478-2925 toll free.

That mini-pack is a solid ticket package. Two good teams and one good beatdown (presuming that we crush Kansas).

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.

That's great to hear. Hopefully, tickets sales continue to be strong heading into the season. There's some games on that schedule that we should get some big crowds for. If the weather is good for that Friday night OSU game, that could be an awesome atmosphere.

Good that it includes the OSU game too. Would be an embarrassment if we can't get some good attendance for the nationally televised game against a likely ranked opponent.

Interestingly enough, that exact combination, PLUS great weather produced our worst attendance since Danny Mac's last game ('09 OK State). Of course that was one game where good weather was actually a detriment to attendance as that extremely wet fall had ground harvest to a halt and that weekend was the first time in months that it was able to go full bore.

Cheap seats are always gone or almost gone by late July. Brisk? Eh maybe --- but not unusually brisk. Read between the lines and I'd say full price season ticket sales are soft. No other reason to do this announcement. Per game price keeps going up every year.

Not to mention those South Endzone season tickets are only 60$ more than a single reserved ticket to the Iowa game. That's probably a significant driver as well.

What, exactly, is the "cardinal reserved area"? For cardinal members that will take a worse seat for lower ticket price? Or does it have nothing to do with NCC donations?

Sections that require a Cardinal-level donation. The lower part of Section 18 fits that category, while the upper part is a Century donation.

I am not doubting you, but that is one HELL of a memory. Props to you, sir.

It was 2 years ago, and was really bad attendance. 40K. I know it shock most Hawk fans, but that's our worst attendance since DMac left. We were playing a ranked team on national TV and no one showed up.

I remember the part about the good weather and getting into the field because that fall was so damn wet that my family's farm didn't finish corn harvest until early March 2010.

We finished at the beginning of December a day before it started snowing. I missed the game as I spent all day in a tractor.

Yeah, I can back you on this because I had to work and missed that game. We got pretty much nothing done until November and were way behind. I also remember Walters commenting on the attendance numerous times. That day though, was frickin gorgeous.

Idk. With High School football going on that Friday night and farmers being in the field, we will probably only get 35K
