    Thumb drive help

I have a small 2gb thumb drive that I was installing the Chrome OS on. I've deleted everything on the drive but now all I see is 250mb.

I right click on the drive and choose format but it still only shows 250mb

I then go into disc management and I see New Volume=250mb and Unallocated 1.62gb.

I'm at a loss how to get that back?

    Re: Thumb drive help

I've had this happen. Try doing the full format if you haven't already, not the quick one.

    Re: Thumb drive help

You can use utilities like this one to format it.

HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool - v2.1.8 Download - EXTREME Overclocking

Sometimes windows doesnt like the partitions those boot drives use.

    Re: Thumb drive help

This worked. You just have to be careful when you have 4 different drives.

    run command promt
    type diskpart
    hit enter
    type list disk
    hit enter
find out number for your fdrive
    type select disk X
    hit enter
(X being the number for your fdrive)
    type clean
    hit enter
    type create partition primary
    hit enter

    Re: Thumb drive help

I read through these directions and installed it on a thumb drive and then ran it on my netbook.
