Have you ever bought anything off of eBay, and it just doesn't work? ...or you got scammed? ...kind of like the keyboard I just bought.

Only bad run in I've had on Ebay was trying to sell a laptop after a Black Friday deal. Purchases the laptop for like $500, sold first for $1400 to someone who had just signed up, never responded, 2nd time sold for $1200, same thing, 3rd listing it was all over ebay and only got like $700.

I'm not much of an Ebay seller, and didn't know if I could decline bids, as I knew the 2nd one was gonna be a fake like the first.

I learned that the hard way from the other side. I was a first-time buyer, had the leading bid with a few seconds to go, and the seller refused.

I understand that I didn't have a track record, so it's OK. But it wasn't a pleasant surprise.

I didn't really get screwed but I got misled:

Bought a Shawn Kemp jersey signed by the entire 1996 NBA finals squad for like $30. They're legit sigs, but the jersey was the smelliest thing EVER. Couldn't wash it because of the autographs. After airing it out for weeks in my garage I vacuum sealed it in a frame to contain the smell. nasty.

I didn't realize they could do this, but I guess if it was based on rep. I thought they usually say this in the listing.

    Dude,

Where can I buy a keyboard that types upside down and backwards?? Everyone needs at least one keyboard like that for things like annual evaluations, hawkeye boards, rivals BB's, you know, important stuff.

I'm no expert. I know that some do. This was my first time buying anything, and I haven't actually bought anything that way for a few years. As a novice, it surprised me, because I just expected to get what I wanted.

Ebay does have great buyer protection. I bought a Miller High Life lamp. Had great communication with seller, he received my payment, then I never received the item. Called the guy 2-3 times and each time he said it was being sent. Still nothing after about 3 weeks, I filled out a dispute thing. Ebay helped me get my money back.
