My wife and I have already decided that if we have a girl we're naming her Nico. We choose to ignore the history of philandering and the fact that Lou Reed hated her.

Although Sweet Jane is a good song, it is by far the most overrated VU song ever.

Me and the wife had I'm Sticking With You as our wedding song, well before the movie Juno stole it and made it known.

This is a paradox. I don't think you can really say there's an overrated VU song. They just aren't popular enough to be overrated.

IMO, Sweet Jane is almost the definition of a perfect pop-rock song. The type of song that makes you wonder how in the hell they weren't more popular in their day.

Being freaky vampires hanging out with Andy doesn't translate into popularity. Well, it does today, but not then.

Agree, Sweet Jane is great. And I have a lot of sentimental value attached to it as well, so its even better in my eyes. Or.....ears.

It's amazing how much influence the Velvet Underground had. Look at a guy like David Bowie. He was a huge fan. Some of his songs are just dripping with VU influence. Take Queen ***** for example. You can almost hear Lou Reed singing it.

Bowie does a great cover of I'm Waiting for The Man.

I wouldn't be surprised if him a Lou Reed were part-time lovers.
