Music Lovers: Great New Release Tuesday

This is a pretty great new release Tuesday for the music lovers out there. I would recommend any and all of the following...
    Sublime with Rome
    William Elliott Whitmore
    Alkaline Trio
    Larry and his Flask
    The Cool Kids

Does anyone else have some release they are anticipating this summer???

Re: Music Lovers: Great New Release Tuesday

The ones I was looking forward to are already out:

    Foo Fighters
    Rise Against
    Seether

I've heard some rumors that Five Finger Death Punch is working on a new one, which would make me very happy, but I don't think it's true, yet.

EDIT: I'm a fan of Sublime also but haven't heard anything with the new singer. I'll have to check it out.

New Wilco album should be out by fall, I think.

Re: Music Lovers: Great New Release Tuesday

Incubus - If Not Now, When? Released today. I have had the album for 4 weeks now to review and would say that it is nothing like the last two albums. Much more mellow, but I appreciate the thoughtful lyrics, the evolution of the band, and the creativity displayed. It displays maturity that has come to them with age. Check out the self titled song, Friends and Lovers, In the Company of Wolves (sounds like a Doors mix with Pink Floyd, absolutely incredible transition halfway through the song), and of course the two singles aren't too bad. Cheers!

    Enjoy.

Re: Music Lovers: Great New Release Tuesday

Washed Out just released their first full-length today, and MellowHype just put out an album that surprisingly doesn't make me think Hodgy Beats & Tyler the Creator are going to kill me in my sleep. Pretty good.

A new Gomez album came out a couple weeks back. It's taking a little while to grow on me compared to their previous albums, but it's still pretty good.

The new Bon Iver album is absolutely top notch. It's nothing like his last album (1.5 albums?). Just a very well thought out album that really surprised me. It is most definitely worth checking out. For you r&b/hip hop types, Frank Ocean is outstanding. Check out his mixtapes. He's got a free one that has something like 64 original tracks on it.

Agreed on the new Bon Iver, it's really good. If you like that, you should also check out the All Tiny Creatures album he released this year with the guys from Collection of Colonies of Bees. It's a nice split between Bon Iver & the Volcano Choir album he did a few years ago.

5FDP released their new song "Under and Over It" a few weeks ago, and their new album, "American Capitalist" drops either the first or second Tuesday of October. If you haven't heard it yet, check out the explicit copy of it on youtube, or they have it on their website.

I'm streaming new RHCP right now. It's pretty good. It doesn't blow me away like Stadium Arcadium did (lack of Frusciante I guess), but it's very solid. They're still pushing creatively and haven't lost their ability to work a groove.

It's not a party album, but it will be good for a long drive.

The new Jay-Z and Kanye West has a couple of good songs. More Kanye than Jay.

I was incredibly disappointed with the album. There are a few enjoyable songs, but there are about 4 that are less than 3 minutes long, they each only drop 1 verse on just about every song, and the songs really just arent that mind blowing like I was expecting. You have two great hip hop minds like Jay Z and Kanye, you expect them to put out something great, not something mediocre and let the hype machine take over.

    RHCP's itunes store page.

RE Kanye/Jay-Z, that's disappointing. I'm not a huge hip hop fan, but I appreciate both of those artists. I thought Kanye's last album was really good (he's still a **** stick), so I'm a bit surprised to hear it's a dud.
