    Taking away my dog's manhood.

Got a puppy about a month ago and he is nearing the time where he needs to be neutered. Anyone got any recommendations in the Ames/DSM area for a good procedure for a relatively cheap price?

Take it to yoda's place, he has a cat that can take care of that issue.

2 cents. But I'd check around small town vets. I don't know what the going rate is but mine in Granger was reasonable and they are good people.

Did you check with the ISU vet school?

I wouldn't want to shift the cats focus away from those rabbits.

If you go there, it won't be cheap, and it will be done by students. I'm not saying that's a bad thing (my wife just finished there), but you should know before driving up here.

Ankeny Animal Health is pretty good and relatively inexpensive for routine procedures. We've been there a few times. Creature Comforts is an excellent clinic, but it's going to be more expensive than Ankeny Animal Health.

I live in Ames and my vet is in Radcliffe, its a bit of a drive for me (20 mins or so) but she is cheap and good. Her name is Paula Kuhfus, I have had all my pets there. She lasered my newest dogs nuts off for 100 bucks and he came home that afternoon. My dog wasn't pleased but he survived.

Try feeding it wedding cake and see if that works.

The grass always looks greener, on the other side of the fence, but the dog over there might be meaner, on the other side of the fence… Stay in your own yard, play in your own yard!

They are hard to find but are cheap and the owner is a grad of ISU. My Beagle Hilton goes there for all his vet appointments.

"Wasn't pleased"? If he had any idea at all what just happened to him that may be putting it very mildly.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.
