Re: Release: ISUís SMITH TO TRANSFER

This kills our LB depth. Need to sign a lot of LB's this year and maybe a JUCO or two

Hurts LB depth for sure. Oh well at least he is transferring early.

Best of luck to Mr. Smith.

Talk about a huge step back. Daytona Beach is a crap hole slum these days. It's really gone down the crapper in the last four years. It's really is a dump.

Re: Release: ISUís SMITH TO TRANSFER

That's not good. We may need to take about 5 LBers in this class. 3 HS and 2 JUCOs. Maybe even another HSer. That position is not in a good spot as far as depth right now.

    I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

    Or so I have read.

Re: Release: ISUís SMITH TO TRANSFER

We haven't done a very good job of recruiting and maintaining LB's the past decade.

    Donald Smith
    Adrian Bennett
    Ernest Ferguson
    Kevin Hamlin
    Anthony Green
    Curtis Mathiz
    Fabian Brown
    Kris Means
    Princeton Jackson

That's not including the guys that decommited and signed elsewhere. Definitely need a big LB class this year

    Lots of fortitude there.

No doubt...I guess I just don't get the homesick thing. After I graduated high school I went to basic training and other training for the military half a year then came home and left for Ames. Loved it. Loved the adventure of it...seeing new things and different parts of the country. And this from someone who loved their hometown enough to move back and raise his family there.

Hard to imagine he even gave the place a chance. I mean who doesn't like Ames in the summer?! The place is like heaven.

Re: Release: ISUís SMITH TO TRANSFER

Totally bummed. Thought this kid has a lot of potential & was under the radar. He came in pretty heavy (216, I think), so 1st thought was 'damn, maybe he packed on the muscle & could be ready pretty quickly', but now 2nd thought is 'maybe it wasn't the kind of weight one would want to add.'

Was really wishing he could crack special teams & contribute - like a couple freshmen we had 2 years ago.

Homesickness is normal. You just have to fight through that. 3 weeks in?? Honestly that's not even trying... Nothing against that kid but that's not a wise decision at all.

Everybody who is judging this kid needs to take a step back and realize that he is the person best suited to make the decision for him. Don't jump on him for it.

Best of luck Donald, Cyclone Nation wishes you the best. Ignore the haters
