CCL vs. Prime Time League (Iowa City)

Below is a link to the stats for the Prime Time League in Iowa City in which both Hawk and UNI players participate. To put things in perspective, the stats for players from these teams rival those of CCL. In other words, good players do well when the competition isn't as stiff and there's a lack of structure.

As has been said on CF time and time again, the CCL stats won't necessarily translate into the players' performance during regular season. But, I do think they are an indication of which players have talent and in which areas they excel.

"Of course the people don't want war ... the people can always be brought to do the bidding of the leaders. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to greater danger."

These leagues are all the same, its a chance to work on certain aspects of your game while breaking up the grind of repetitive summer workouts.

I'm unsure what point you are trying to make.

Is there someone saying something different? I think we all know what the capital city league is and isn't.

I see two players there for Iowa consistently putting up numbers Marble and Hubbard. I didn't realize Ali F. was playing in the summer league as well.

Iowa State players light up the CCL with stats. Very few Iowa players are lighting their league up.

    You sure about that?

Scoring from the games on the 28th

Hubbard with 21 points, 11 boards. Perfect 8-of-8 from line.
Cartwright with 22 points, 5 assists.
    Olaseni 4 points, 9 rebounds.
McCabe with 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting.
Marble with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Perfect 7-of-7 at the line.
Archie with 5 points and 6 rebounds.
May with 30 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds.
Oglesby had 24 points on 8-of-16 shooting and also had 7 rebounds.
Gatens with 31 on 11-of-15 shooting.
Basabe with 39 points and 11 boards.
    White with 19 points.

The recruits Iowa have brought in all look to be contributors for this upcoming season. Olaseni isnt going to do much on the offensive size but will contribute in terms of defensive presence and rebounding which Iowa lacked from the 5 spot last season.

Theres a lot to like about what iowa has coming in to help the existing roster. A lot to like.

They are both similar, because they are much ado about nothing.
