    Sam Richardson at CW's podcast

First of all, thanks Chris for asking Arnaud to evaluate Rohach's delivery.

I found several things interesting in the podcast. First, that Arnaud thinks so highly of Richardson. He said he was going to be the best QB to come through ISU in a while. And Arnaud has seen him in person. He likes his arm and the way he carries himself.

Arnaud was also complimentary of Rohach's delivery. He said he had a quick release, which is always a good thing in a QB, and he can deliver on the run. He didn't think the leg kick was problematic.

CW's take on a starting five in basketball took me a little by surprise. CW said he expected a starting five of:

    McGee
    Christopherson
    Allen
    Ejim
    White

That's a very small lineup. I think I'd agree on everyone but McGee and I think Booker starts. Allen will be the PG, but I don't think it makes a difference who is PG with White in the game. We may have several distributors on the floor at the same time. I also think we'll see a lineup of McGee, Christopherson, Allen, Babb and White a lot. Spread the floor and shoot threes. Who could stop that?

Re: Sam Richardson at CW's podcast

I think he's exactly right on the b-ball lineup...with the only possible shift being Babb starting of Christopherson...thought I think that's unlikely. What's going to matter, however, won't be who starts, but how Hoiberg shifts the lineups to attain maximum advantage over opponents. We have talent...and its diverse talent...which gives coach the tools to beat other teams in a lot of different ways. On some nights, it will be as simple as following the "hot hand"...and we have about 6 guys who could simply "go off" on a given night and knock down 30 plus points.

The lineup seems about right to me. Its a very small lineup, but a very effective lineup. Babb should be the best 6th man in the Big 12

I like that lineup to start, but with talent all over the floor, I expect to see a ton of different mixes throughout games.

    Wouldn't Rohach be pronounced Ro-hock?

Chris has actually talked to the kid, so I would imagine that would have come up during their chat. I have no real idea, though.

Re: Sam Richardson at CW's podcast

I agree on Richardson being the best QB to come through for awhile. As for the BBall lineup

    Allen
    Christopherson
    Babb
    White
    Booker

Re: Sam Richardson at CW's podcast

I think people are underestimating how good of an all-around player Babb will be for us, and I fully anticipate Melvin having a very solid year.

I think too much is being made of having a set PG. If we are playing good D and getting out and running as much as I expect us to, it won't matter that much as long as we have 2-3 guys who can handle. I would love to see this starting lineup:

    Allen
    Scotty
    Babb
    Ejim
    White

You've got some decent sized guards to compensate for some smaller interior guys, yet everyone is very mobile. 3 legit outside threats(maybe 4 if Melvin has become more consistent), and everyone can also get to the basket if there's any mismatches. I would love to see Melvin or Babb develop a good post-up game to take smaller guards onto the block. I see Melvin and Babb being pretty interchangeable on D, with Melvin the more likely '4'. Obviously the big key for this group would be rebounding, but there is no reason why can't outscore just about anyone, which would help take pressure off the bench guys, who I expect:

    McGee
    Booker
    Sledge
    Railey
    Bubu
    Gibson
(wish we had Godfrey(or Cook)! Oh well...)

That is an athletic, energizing bench that can also get up and down the court and hopefully get after it defensively. I think at this point we need our best 5 on the floor together, which is who I have as starters. McGee could end up possibility getting in there or Booker if we are worried about specific game matchups.

I bet CFH puts the 5 players on the court that gives ISU the best chance to win.

As an add-on, am I the only one who thinks AA has some real talent on the mic? I could really see him getting into broadcasting.

Re: Sam Richardson at CW's podcast

I think the BB lineup talk is folly. We haven't seen alot of these guys play at all or at least for 2 years. We'll be fine, no matter what, until there is an injury.
