Early North Title Favorite - Kansas?

I was browsing through the ISU Daily, and in one of their articles is mentioned that Oklahoma and Kansas were the early front-runners to play for the Big 12 Championship.

Did they forget about Nebraska or K-State? Missouri can still get their act together and Colorado is better than last year.

Right now I think we are the only team who doesn't have a shot at winning the North.

Kansas beat the MAC conference champion in their season opener 52-10. Yes - you saw that right, they BEAT the opponent, not got beat by. I know it has been only one week, but what does everyone think of the North... and especially Kansas. Was KU's win a fluke?

I would love to see Kansas win the North, if for no other reason than to give those Cornholers something to whine about.

Bold prediction : Knebraska plays in the title game again this year. In another year or two, Callahan gets fired or leaves.

I've been on KU's bandwagon all summer. I never predicted they would win the north but I did say they would suprise some people.

    Now...where is that cookie.

Re: Early North Title Favorite - Kansas?

since there is likely little chance of ISU in the Big 12 title game, I'd love to see KU representing the north....it could happen. The Fighting Mangino's have been in place for awhile and maybe they have something good goin' in lawrence. Anything to shut up husker fan is good in my books. However, considering the # of 4 and 5 star players callahan is bringing to lincoln, I think he'll still be winning 8-9 games there based on talent alone along with mediocre/average coaching. He's not going anywhere.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

You might be right. I just have this strange gut feeling like it's all gonna implode around him. He doesn't come across as a real 'high character' guy to me. In fact, rather shady. I think he's gonna get his.

Is it okay for us to to want KU to win the Big 12? In bball we'd want nothing more than them at the bottom.

Callahan just got an extension 3 days ago.

Oh yeah...we're most likely not gonna win it - so go Kansas.

I think at some point the Nebraska fans will grow tired of 9 win seasons. If Cally can't get them to a BCS bowl in the next 2 years he will be shown the door. IMHO

Did NU have a top 10 recruiting class within the last 2 or 3 years? I may be mistaken, but if so, what the h happened with that team?

ISU deserved every bit of that beating, they did it to themselves.
