    Rivals' best article ever?

    CycloneReport.com - Reflecting on 1995-97 ISU hoops

this is probably the best article i've ever read on rivals. a few typos/statistical errors but great quotes from cyclone greats!

I think so. I was enthralled by the article. I loved the quotes by all the main players and Floyd.

I agree. Great article! Brings back a lot of good memories. I loved watching those guys. They played hard and the defense they played was so good.

Floyd: What I'd love to see us do is get the best players available, which we feel like can compete against those guys this year. And as we win, and the recruits got more familiar with us winning, we would be able to go out and get a better [freshmen] player.

The exact same strategy FH has stated he is using. Get transfers to help us win in order to get better freshmen.

The article was great and these players are my first real memories as a cyclone fan.

On another note anyone who has questioned why Fred decided to go the transfer route now has that question answered. Floyd was obviously a huge influence as Hoiberg has said.

I was in school those years. I still wear my Big 8 tournament champions shirt once in a while.

Best part of the article was Floyd ripping on Roy Williams for being a ****** after losing in the tournament finals.

Yeah, I love his quote about what he learned from Williams. "It was OK to commit a foul with 7 seconds to go in the ball game, which gave Kansas the lead, but it wasn't OK to commit a foul with 3.6 seconds remaining." Hilarious and totally makes Williams out as a d***.

I would love to read a similar article about the Elite Eight team.

great article. I dont think Cato was interviewed, I would have liked to read about what he is doing now, but I was super impressed with Jacy and Dedric's views. My heart was broken for Jacy when he said he had trouble sleeping or doing well in school. I remember being crushed watching that ucla game- I can only imagine what were going on in their lives.

Great article. Gotta love Jacy getting some praise, even Cyclone fans don't give him his due. Sure he wasn't the most physically gifted guy but all he did was win.

Great article! I remember betting with friends on how long it would take for Floyd to rip his jacket off. Crowd would go nuts. Also recall the unconventional ways they won. Like purposely fouling the other team's worst free throw shooter every time he stepped on the court, even if it was 2 minutes into the game.

Willoughby is still one of, if not my favorite Cyclone. The way he came around picks and shot it that quick...amazing. One of those guys that you knew the shot was good as he was catching it to go up with the shot.

Willoughby is also my favorite Cyclone player ever. I was a kid at the time and wanted to be able to shoot the ball like him.
