    Google+ Project

    Will you try it?

I honestly would love it if someone could kick Facebook in the butt a bit. If they could make it intuitive, more secure, less junk apps, etc, that would be great.

If someone can do it it's Google, I mean they already have all our information, they can just create our pages for us. Boom, efficiency!

    Re: Google+ Project

I won't try it simply because I don't do the whole social network thing. But I've always had a thing against Facebook. Most likely it was because I was jealous of a college dropout who's richer than I could ever dream of being. But I just watched The Social Network the other day and, man, the Mark Zuckerberg really came off as a *****. And what do I know, he might not be that way in real life, but I'm going with he is.

He needs knocked off his high horse.

I have no doubt that someday google will own 75 percent or more of your everyday web experience. Its crazy how much they have their hands on right now. They are essentially tailoring there own internet piece by piece and most people dont even know it.

I think that is one of their failed experiments to get them to where they want to go. They can afford risk and they take them a lot.

I am not a fan of Zuckerberg or Facebook for that matter, but I did read that Zuckerberg's portrayal in the movie is one of the biggest inaccuracies of the story.

Also, I like the concept of the +Circles. One of the things I disliked most about Facebook was seeing some of the things my "Friends" posted that I didn't feel were appropriate to make public to hundreds (sometimes thousands) of people. I realize I had the option to 'defriend' or block their updates, but this seemed like too much work, especially for a social networking site.

    Re: Google+ Project

Can't blame Google for trying to get in on a piece of the Facebook pie, but I don't see this succeeding.

The junk apps scare me on facebook. Most of my FB friends subscribe to dozens of these apps, and none of them realize that when you subscribe to a FB app, you are granting the app free access to anything and everything about you on FB. And, very few people know how to remove a FB app (FB has made the process somewhat difficult).

Aren't their employees required to spend a certain percentage of their work week on side projects not related to their main job? I think that's how a lot of those experiments come about.
