    ISU in Sports Illustrated

ISU was projected to finish 2nd in the North behind Nebraska Bret Meyer was a player to watch in the Big 12 and Todd Blythe was ISU's big man on campus. Also had ISU ranked 31 in the nation. It had A&M finishing 9-3 They chose us to finish 8-4 and be in the Insight.com bowl. Personally i am realisticly shooting for the Holiday bowl. Plus Nebraska-ISU game was a can't miss game.

That is in line with a lot of other publications. It's time for us to proof it on the field!

If we make it to 8-4, we better damn well be better than 31st in the nation...

Actually...if we go 8-4...I'm guessing the experts are saying we lose to...

    Iowa
    Texas
    Oklahoma
    Nebraska

That puts us beating just one really good team...

    Texas Tech

The rest of our wins would be...

    Toledo
    UNLV
    UNI
    K-State
    Colorado
    Missouri
    Kansas

Granted, UNI is going to be good yet they are still a D-IAA school. A few of the Big 12 teams noted in the last list could be good too...but very few are expecting much from them at this point.

So...based on our strength of wins...I'd say it's quite feasible for us to go 8-4 and not finish in the Top 25. That will depend on how good these other teams actually turn out to be of course.

I don't think most of the nation views Tech as a really good team. I would say they are traditionally viewed as a good team, but very rarely a very good team. The rest of the wins on the list are viewed as turds right now on a national level. We'd have nothing to gripe about, which is why it's important that we beat someone worth a crap.

After a decade +, I don't think that's too much to ask. I know our offense will be up to the task.

I will count Nebraska as the eight win. It is in our house and we will be ready. Right, Flynn?

Just wanted to remind you that Montana State and Greg Coleman play Colorado on 2 Sep.

Prove that we're #31 in the nation? Unacceptable. Top 20 or bust.
