Updates on FB roster at Cyclones.com

Cyclones.com has updated the heights and weights on the football roster. Some that jump out:
    OL
Burris - 298 I think he had fallen down to 276 lbs this spring
    Ethan Tuftee - 315
    Ben Loth - 322
Oni Omoile - 280 I was a little concerned he might come in smaller than his recruiting bio had him. Nice to see he is bigger than expected
    DL
    Rump 298
    McDonough 302
Pompey 319 I hope he hasn't gained too much

    DE
Irving 261 Someone on here had claimed to see him in camp and thought he was 220. He must carry that 41 extra lbs well
Nelson 248 That sounds much better than the 235 he was listed at this spring

    LB
Miller 244 Now that is a Big XII sized freshman linebacker

    DB
Johnson 202 I hope Leonard hasn't gotten too big

At least on paper we finally have the size that looks like a Big XII roster.

Irving at 6' 7", 261. That kid has to get some PT this year.

I think Pompey, with his knee injury, might be carrying more bad weight than good at this point. My guess is he will redshirt, which is fine. I have heard a lot of good things about Brandon Jensen, and I think he will provide the extra depth on the defensive line.

I'm with you Brett. Hopefully Jensen and the incoming juco, Simon can team up with Mcd, Rump, and Laing and allow Pompey to redshirt.

    What's your phone number??

Not saying that size = PT, but as much as the coaches are in love with this kid, and the size he has, we'll probably see him on the field at some point. 261 is a lot better than the 220 or whatever he was listed at with the recruiting services.

How about "Size plus the already established athleticism"? The coaches said that he would play if he was ready. If he's really 261, and that's muscle, I'd say that's a good first step to being "ready".

Well, I will remember that Scott Haughton reported way out of shape--and was starting on the o-line by the end of his freshman season. So I guess we'll see. I'm just glad that he has made it into school. I'm sure that the coaches will take it from there.

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.
    (They just disappear offseason)

We'll just have to keep him away from Vesuvius on Duff.

What kind of knee injury does Pompey have?

I see Jennert's up to 215 from 200...another 20 pound gain and he might start looking like a Tight End, albeit a slender-receiving type Tight End.

Guys, stop. Someone eyed him at 220. CPR is lying by 40 pounds. Also, I pegged Rump the other day at 260 instead of 300. I've got an eye for these things.

Just ask Drew Davis if size = playing time. He's been the biggest guy on our roster since he's been here. I'm not sure if he's seen the field for a single play yet.

That is so insanely different I don't know where to start.

First of all, every single one of the tackles on out roster isn't undersized compared to the tall rangy athletic DEs that CPR has previously stated he wanted.

Second, our DEs have flat out completely sucked the past couple years, minus Lattimer for about 1/3 of the year last year. We were literally the worst pass rushing team in the entire FBS. Davis plays behind Osemele who happens to be a pre season All American.

3rd this kid is athletic and has recently put on a ton of weight rather than just carrying dead weight around.

Finally, he bring something we don't have with his size. We don't have one tall, rangy, athletic DE. He has a chance to contribute just because of that. He brings unique, athletic, size. Not just weight.
