    Re: Rutgers sells Stadium Name

$1.5 to $2 million per year.... would it be worth it?

    Re: Rutgers sells Stadium Name

I hate this trend but its going to become more and more common. Schools will just go with what you suggested, they'll lead with the corporate name and keep historical names to the field, court etc.

I would be very selective on who we named JTS after. Maybe Pioneer Field, John Deer Field, or CaseIH Stadium.

    Re: Rutgers sells Stadium Name

As long as it is "such and such Field at Jack Trice Stadium", that's fine.

There aren't a lot of things I wouldn't sell out for in the area of college sports, but keeping the name "Jack Trice Stadium" is something I think we absolutely need to do.

In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.

I don't think that number is right. Way to low. Texas Tech sold their rights for $20 million and Louisville has received over $25 million from Papa Johns.

That fact is we have already sold the Hilton court to Pioneer too.

I bet we could get $3 million a year or so with the amount of TV exposure from our new Big 12 contracts compared to Rutgers, that is a huge amount of money. That would cover a lot of bowling in the south endzone in 10 years time.

Still would feel like kind of selling out, and I would definitely want it to be Blank field at Jack Trice Stadium

Are those lump sums or per year? If those are lump sums it would seem to fit. And I wouldn't expect as much as those school but if that is what they got I would expect $15 million at least.

And other than the logos how have we sold it to them?

    They're large lump sums.

A contract would only have to be like 10 years long or so to be worth the same as them. I doubt Rutgers would get as much as those schools either.

    Re: Rutgers sells Stadium Name

I think Pioneer Field sounds better than say, Hienz Field or Papa Johns whatever. Pioneer is an Iowa Based Company that adds a historic element from our heritage- not sure Pioneer would pay enough to name a stadium though. Pioneer's founder was an ISU alumni and a former Vice President.

Jack Trice Stadium is a great name...
