    Monday 0620 Severe Weather Event

Interested in seeing what the WX gurus think of Monday's setup for severe weather in the region. DSM seems to be in the middle of the panic maps from what I've seen from the weather service and some commercial sites.

And any ETA on timing? And primary threats? Hopefully not a middle of the night event, I hate those.

We haven't had rain north of DSM for about a week, so it seems like flooding shouldn't be a huge issue in this area. Indianola might have a different opinion.

Needs to stay south, as in Missouri. You must mean right north of
DM. You go north of Ft Dodge and it's a swamp.

Currently tornado warnings in two Southern counties. May be a interesting night down south.

Just a "little" I think if you include last year this area is short 20+" over that period.

Some big fires just started up south of College Station today. 30 house + 20 other buildings destroyed and another 100+ homes evacuated.

Timing looks late. Sunset or later, should be strong cap in place most of the day.

Could be earlier to the north, but not until late for anything around US 30 or I80. Looks like another long night tomorrow as well as tonight

And here we've got all this water, and we wish it would all just go away. I wish there was some way we could canal the Missouri, and send the water to Texas instead of the Mississippi.

It's very hot and dry in the southwest? Talk about being thrown a curve ball. Who could have seen that coming?

I agree with the timing on this for my area as well. I was thinking 8/9pm and later for those of us around the MN/IA border. It's going to be a nighttime event. Best activity will be in western Iowa. Look for clusters of storms in NE/W. IA down into KS to merge into a line and move NE. Also look for isolated storms out in front of that line and also along the warm front that could be nasty as well. All threats will be present tonight.

If you live in the eastern half of Iowa, especially NE IA, you could see some severe weather again on Tuesday afternoon.

Yep, you know when Reed and Joel show up you are going to be spending some time in your basement or storm shelter.
