    Is Ejim the forgotten Cyclone?

I know the CCL doesn't mean much of anything, but his stat line (33 points, 23 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals) is very impressive. With all the talk of the new guys, I think we have forgotten about how good Ejim could be this year (at least I have). He started off very well last year, only to hit a wall and not play great the second half of the year or so. However, many freshmen make a big jump in their sophomore years, and I expect it out of Melvin this year. Also, he was playing out of position last year, and should be able to move back to the 3 with the new help down low.

I think he could easily be one of our best players this year....

I agree and look forward to seeing what this guy can do. Glad he stuck with ISU through the coaching change.

I hope so. He has a ton of potential.

It's a pretty nice luxury for us next year to even have the thoughts of him coming off the bench. Can't wait to have some depth next year.

    He is a little forgotten...

His offensive rebounding was really good last year - especially for playing out of position. It must be because of his strength. If he can improve his outside shot, and his first step (he had the yips for a while last year - couldn't drive without traveling) than I think he could be a really great all-around player. Nice to have him, Babb, and Clyburn 2012 - 2013 at the 3 spot.

Not forgotten! I'm excited to see a freshman actually develop, and I'm hoping that he is the first Cyclone in recent memory that I can do this with through four years.

I guess you really weren't a big fan of watching DG grow over his 4 years into an NBA Draft prospect...

Re: Is Ejim the forgotten Cyclone?

I believe that Ejim will look better this year, because he won't have to play the 4 as much and he'll have added stregth/maturity.

I also think he will thrive as we get up and down more with our added depth/athleticism.

Re: Is Ejim the forgotten Cyclone?

I dont' think he is forgotten. But in this seemingly rare ocasion, we aren't going to be counting on a second year player as our "go-to" guy. It is easy to get excited about the unknown possibilities of our redshirts. If anyone is forgotten, I think it is Scotty. he have such bad line last night as well.

Either this or Booker or Babb instead of Ejim. We'll see if I change my mind after seeing Sledge play.
