    Automobile Air Conditioner Repair

Does anyone have a recommendation for repair of an air conditioner in a car in the Ames area.

The air conditioner is cycling often and in warm weather just blows air. It's an older model (2004 Chevy Malibu) and my current mechanic hasn't been able to find anything wrong and the freon is full.

    Thanks for any help.

It still sounds like a refrigerant leak to me, even though the freon is full. It's one of few things that will keep the AC cycling repeatedly. Another thing could be a bad coil, whether its just worn out or it shorted.

Either way, I would take it to George White and have them look. Had them work on my '99 Blazer when I had it and always got good service. They do plenty of older-ish model GM work too because it is a college town, lots of student cars.

    Just my 2 cents though.

Aamco is the correct answer in my opinion. They don't charge a diagnostic fee. U only get charged for the parts and labor needed to fix it. I haven't been to the Ames location though, I've only been to the Douglas and Hickman locations but have been treated fairly.
