    Satellite Guru Question

Some of you may have seen my tailgating bus that I recently purchased. Anyways, I just recently picked up DirecTV as my provider for satellite. I have since acquired a DirecTV Slimline Satellite dish that is brand new. What I am wondering is how hard is it to find a HD signal? I have seen a digital signal finder and everything but was wondering if these are worth buying. Recommendations of how to proceed would be great. I am going to purchase a tripod for the Satellite, but was wondering if I should just go with a rooftop one. i.e. link below is an example.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
