They'll still be behind, but good to see them come out with some new phones.

Nice to see but until they get more of national network I will still probably switch to Verizon.

Why does anyone use US Cellular rather than Verizon? Habit?

i do because i got onto my parents plan. $12 a month us cell. sure beats $60 a month with at&t.

service isn't spectacular but with 48 bucks in my pocket per month i'll take it. plus im not really into "smart" phones. only moderately intelligent ones.

other than that for a reason, i don't know. have been waiting for them to go under for years. hasn't happened yet so they must be doing something right.

Was unaware that people still used U.S. Cellular...Well this news should make those 7 people very happy.

My wife and I have Blackberry's thru US Cellular, in Iowa they cannot be beat for Coverage. If you travel to small towns, and off the Freeways US Cellular cannot be beat in Iowa. Plus we have never had a problem using US celluar in my travels to Dallas, Florida, Colorado, Wisconsin, Chicago and California. So not sure why someone would question their national coverage. Plus the price cannot be beat. I will be happy with more Smartphone options however.

Re: U.S. Cellular to Launch 8 Smartphones, 2 Tablets & it's First 4G LTE Devices

I'm on my parents U.S. Cell plan, none of us have never had a problem so there was no need to switch. When I get married next summer I will probably go with Verizon. Pretty much everyone I know has U.S. Cellular, granted all those people are in Iowa where it is quite popular so anyone outside of Iowa and the Midwest probably have never even heard of it just like I have never heard of the smaller carriers in other parts of the country.

Wasn't questioning their coverage, just really suprised it is still being used and that Verizon, AT&T, etc haven't pushed them out yet. Seems like it would have happened by now.

I'm glad you're happy with your service.

The article said they will have 4G LTE phones this fall but didn't mention anything about 4G service. Have they even started building a 4G network or will their devices just roam onto verizons service?

They're rolling their own out later this year

The initial rollout of 4G LTE service for U.S. Cellular, which has the highest call quality and network satisfaction of any national carrier, is planned for selected cities in Iowa, Wisconsin, Maine, North Carolina, Texas and Oklahoma. These include some of U.S. Cellular's leading markets such as Milwaukee, Madison and Racine, Wis.; Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Davenport, Iowa; Portland and Bangor, Maine; and Greenville, N.C.

I have US Cellular and love it. I have never been able to get this kind of service w/ the other companys. My family is all Verizon and the drop calls like crazy. Havent had a dropped call in the midwest in prob 3 years. Colorado on the other hand haha no service.

Been a customer for years, never had a dropped call. New nationwide plan gives me coverage any where there is service. JD Powers rated them #1 this last year.
