Trees down all over NE Cedar Rapids

Not sure what the other parts of town are looking like right now. But I had 40 foot of fence blow over. The person who lives behind me had a big limb come down from their tree and land on their new swing set. I did a little drive around and it is hard to see at night but there are lots of trees and limbs down all over. Be interesting to see what it looks like come morning

I heard that a Tornado hit the Blairs Ferry Target. Haven't seen anything online about it, but just wondering if anyone else heard anything. Guessing it didn't happen if we haven't seen anything at this point.

No confirmed tornados as of 11:00 pm. Many funnel sightings, and winds did exceed 70mph, but no actual twisters. My sirens went off for no reason about 5 minutes ago. When we moved here 2 years ago, they only blew for tornado warnings. Ever since Joplin got crushed, they blow them here if somebody sneezes.

Quiet night on the SW side. A lot of lightening and some rain for a little while, but no severe weather down here by Kirkwood.

Not much on 34th st NE. Some dime-quarter size hail, some wind, and downpour for about 20min.

We got hammered in the Bowman Woods area. My folks got it really bad just north of Marion.

West Liberty got slammed about 2 hours ago. Light debris everywhere. Last week, I trimmed our lilac tree, making it even, full, and round. Now it has a gaping hole due to two major branches getting blown down. Damn.

Re: Trees down all over NE Cedar Rapids

We live in North Marion off Winslow near Hunters Ridge, and got hit pretty good. Lots of wind (enough to push the grill and propane tank across the deck), small amount of pea-sized hail, and power out most of the night. On the drive in this morning, there were numerous trees down along Winslow, Indian Creek, and 29th.
