Things that could be handed to you that seem so minor – a dinner, a hunt, a fishing trip
Yeah, those are minor in expense in Texas or anywhere for that matter.

The Ohio State saga started with something as minor as tattoos.

I'm not holding my breath, but I am hoping Texas is the next one to fall.

Yeah I thought Ohio State was untouchable, but after all this I can't wait for the cleanout. I wonder how long the NCAA will stay away from some of the SEC schools (Bama, FL, Auburn, etc.)... they gotta be in line.

Re: First USC, then tOSU, now Texas?

I would not read into it. Here is the text of what was said:

Cowherd: "Did you see agents around Colt?"

Rachel McCoy: "You know his Dad did a really good job of handling all that, so early on they decided that Colt wouldn't have any contact with any of them, even the best of the best, or even the slime you know that kind of comes through too. So Colt did not himself have as much interaction, I know he was approached quite a bit. You know Colt, he can just kind of brush it off and you know move on and not go down that road. I saw so many of his teammates who just...they maybe didn't have some of that self control just to be able to say you know, say no to somebody. I can't. That's not my personality. I don't want to hurt somebody's feelings. It's hard because you got adults who you respect, who you think will know what's right and what's wrong. And You're taught to respect adults. You know Especially in our culture in the South. I mean You do what adults say, because that's how you're taught. So when you have adults offering things, promising the world (indecipherable????). We're taught to go along with that. and to say yes, and accept those things, because that is the respectful thing to do. and So you know it's interesting to see the adults really putting kids like you're saying in these positions where they're taught to agree ,and go along, and accept, and say yes. Because it's authority a lot of the time, or it's somebody older they're taught to respect."

Could stuff have happened? Yeah. Probably did at some level but the issue would be more with individual players as opposed to a program thing if this is all there is. She even mentioned at the beginning of the interview they did a good job educating the players about the rules.

All she talked about was how the guys were very well taught not to take these offers and how Colt McCoy never did

I don't think Texas going down any time in the next 5 years is going to be all that financially beneficial for ISU. If they are going to get in trouble, I hope they have the decency to wait until the first tier rights are signed and completed.

First of all, the Big Lead are a bunch of dirtbags to extrapolate what she said into a BS article like that (not the first time the Big Lead has done this). Second, the stuff she mentions happens at every BCS program and if her comments initiates an investigation on Texas, they might as well investigate every program.

Re: First USC, then tOSU, now Texas?

I listened to the interview and she didn't say players accepted gifts. She said people made offers regularly and the players were told not to accept gifts. This isn't a story just a reporter who's too dumb to understand an interview and wants publicity. Players accept gifts everywhere the osu players weren't coached on how to hide it.
