    Lenny always struck me as a guy would might have done time if not for being a pro athlete. He was a hard guy not to like though, if I remember right he slid headfirst into first base on his first ever hit as a major leaguer.

    I guess I never remember him as a bad person growing up, but I did like the way he played. It's a shame to see how some of these guys turn out after they're done playing the game.

    His investment company was huge at one time, one of the most profitable and respected companies around -- until the downturn. Then everything went south, just like it did for a lot of people in that profession. But he was worth several hundred million at one point, all of it on paper, unfortunately.
