NWMS Head Coach Scott Bostwick died

I just got a text from my nephew that plays for NWMS and new head coach Scott Bostwick just passed away while mowing his lawn this morning. Wow.

Wow, this is a shocker. Northwest is one of my alma maters and I was looking for to coach Bos getting his chance.

Re: NWMS Head Coach Scott Bostwick died

Just awful news. I covered NWMSU for 3 years when I was at KMA in Shenandoah. Scott was a very cool guy.

This makes me wonder if Mel Tjeerdsma might come back for one more season. For those who don't know, Tjeerdsma is credited for making NWMSU into a football power. He retired after last season and Bostwick was given the job. I know a kid who plays on the team and he said that while a few tweaks were made to the overall program, Bostwick didn't change much. Tjeerdsma is a class guy. Wouldn't surprise me if he came back for the sake of the kids.

Sad for a guy to finally get a chance at a head coaching job but not even get to coach a single game. He wasn't even that old.

Re: NWMS Head Coach Scott Bostwick died

This is quite shocking. My sympathies go out to the Bostwick family.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tjeerdsma would come back either but I also wouldn't be surprised if they name Adam Dorrel the head coach. He's been there a long time as well and was the assistant head coach.

    GO BEARCATS!

Tweet from Blair Kerkhoff of the KC Star:

For those thinking Mel Tjeerdsma could return to NW Mo job, he's coaching a USA fb team in summer and set to work at Austin College in fall.

Re: NWMS Head Coach Scott Bostwick died

Any rumblings on who NWMSU might have take over as head coach after losing Coach Bostwick?

I think Adam Dorrel would be the best choice to maintain some continuity if Tjeerdsma coming back isn't a possibility.
