    X-Men: first Class

We snuck over to the matinee for this movie this afternoon.

Without placing spoilers, go and see it. You will not be disappointed.

It is classic, old-school X-Men storytelling. Plenty of characterization, but outstanding work on the powers and action. They really did a nice job here of showing all of those connections between the mutants.

Really good movie. Go and see it

The more I see the trailer, the more interested I am in seeing it. It looks they made solid casting choices for Charles and Magneto. I didn't care for the last X men movie or the Wolverine spinoff but this looks ok.

The Last Stand was absolutely pathetic. After the Last Stand, there was no way I was going near this movie. I held off and held off, finally forgot about it entirely until I was looking for the release date of Captain America.

Then I went and watched the trailer for this movie and the character trailers, and started to think that they might just be onto something.

Good to know thanks. The wife and I were EXTREMELY SKEPTICAL but hopeful. Plan on going to the first show tomorrow. Long time X-men collector so the last movie was painful to watch and I am very forgiving about the history as long as the story is good.

Did the movie seem long at all? I see that it's 2 hours, 20 minutes

Honestly, I don't know who she is.

I don't keep up with actors and actresses very much anymore, which actually makes it nice seeing a movie. I don't have any personal backstory either way. They just "are" the character onscreen.

If she played Emma Frost, the writers found an inventive use of her powers. Somebody ends up looking like a real fool due to her.

The last stand wasn't very good, but I actually liked the origins movie. I really liked the Gambit character and I actually wished they would incorporate him into another movie.

That would be her. She is not a very good actress on Mad Men, but damn she is easy on the eyes. I was a little stunned when I first found out she was going to be in a blockbuster movie like this as a main character.

t probably helps that Emma Frost has never been big on personality.

Jones was effective in this role. She knew when to do the acting and when to let the powers take over and tell the story.

    Re: X-Men: first Class

I hope it's a decent story. Ii would be nice if the characters are better done than the past movies. I hated the first X-Men movie when they missed the mark with Sabretooth. If they would have had the Sabretooth from the Wolverine film, with the trash talk and subtle hate, I would have dug it more. The last movie with the Phoenix character was awful too. It takes more than special effects to make a comic book movie.

    There can be only one.

One thing that annoys me with the movie is that they have Havok as a character but all of a sudden he isn't cyclops brother?

He had the Summers last name, so they didn't exactly take him out of the family yet.

Caught that too. Plus, there was a glimpse of Scott when they turned on Cerebro.
