    AT&T users in Ankeny

Been shopping around various companies for a new cell phone for my wife and I. We are wanting a data plan and some texting.

I've heard that AT&T gets crappy reception in Ankeny and wanted to know what kind of luck people have had with them. Any other tips on plans/phones would be helpful too.

    Thanks!

They get horrible reception in Ames, too.

In the interior hills/mountains of Jamaica, AT&T works great. In central Iowa, not so much.

Wife moved to a Verizon Iphone in Ankeny from an ATT one. She has way better reception with Verizon, and finally has the 3 g's.

We have Verizo now. I think we'll either stick with Verizon or go to Sprint...whoever offers a better deal.

I had AT&T and didnt have too many problems. I switched to US Cellular because they had the phone I wanted and the prices were a little better. Plus you get more data for the price.

    Re: AT&T users in Ankeny

I've had an iPhone on AT&T for going on two years. My signal in Ankeny has been OK, but very spotty (or sometimes non-existent) when traveling in rural areas of Iowa. Therefore, I'm waiting for my contract to end to make the switch to Verizon. Only thing I'm trying to decide is whether to pay the early termination fee and switch now or wait for the next iPhone to come out. Only thing keeping me with AT&T is I still have an unlimited data plan.
