    Best Player in MLB

I know that this might not be the most popular answer but I really think it is Ryan Braun. He is just a complete player (defense is not great but is getting better and lets be honest while it is not great its not like he is Alfonso Soriano or Juan Pierre out there either). His offensive numbers speak for themselves. An underrated part of his game is his speed/baserunning. He is fast, if he was not such a good power hitter I really think he could get close to 60 sb's a year.

I've always been a big Ryan Braun fan, and he is definitely a legitimate argument for the best player in the majors. Joey Votto could be another dark horse candidate you could throw in there. I think it really depends on how you look at the question. If you're asking who is the best player right NOW, I think you have to say Jose Bautista. He's already hit 20 HRs on the year, has 36 RBI, and has a .350 AVG. After a breakout season last year, almost nobody thought he'd keep it up. However, he's on pace to perform much better than last year and at this point is a legit Triple Crown Candidate.

    Re: Best Player in MLB

Right now, it's Jose Bautista and it's not even close. Most popular answer would probably still be Pujols though, although he's not his normal self this year.

I'm not buying the Braun argument. Talented hitter, and a serviceable outfielder, but remember he was put in left field because he was a HORRIBLE third baseman. I suppose the argument could be brought the same to Bautista, but Jose is on track for ≈60 Homeruns, so I think that has to balance it out...

Josh Hamilton is the best, in my opinion, when playing. Power. Speed. Great arm. Very good outfielder. Hits for average. Too bad the guy messed up early in life. He might have been one of the all time greats.

    Re: Best Player in MLB

Bautista, easy. he's even cut down significantly on strikeouts this year. If he played somewhere other than Toronto it would be even more obvious - he's their only offense so there aren't many RBI opportunities.

Albert Pujols is the best in the game today.

Ken Griffey Jr. is arguably the greatest player of all time.

    Re: Best Player in MLB

If we're talking about who's having the best season, then Jose Bautista. If we're talking about who's the best player still in his prime, then I'd go with Albert Pujols.

He has but up mad numbers starting last year. If he played the Twins everyday he would have like 50 homers already. Think he has pasted the Twins for 7 homers already this year. You would think with the number of homers and his slugging percentage that he would have more RBI but he is still there with Triple Crown like numbers.
