    New Survivorman!

Les Stroud just posted on his facebook that he intends on producing new Survivorman!

Finally a real survival show, not that commie Man vs. Wild crap.

Awesome. Man vs. Wild sucks compared to Survivorman.

    Dual Survivor is pretty good.

Good! Survivorman is my favorite! Dual survivor isn't bad either.

Dual Survivor is interesting. I gained some respect for the non-hippie guy when he cut his arm open and then sealed it shut by lighting some gun powder in it.

Man vs. Wild lost all credibility when it came out that he usually stays in hotels and stuff like that.

Dual Survival has been a decent replacement.

On Man vs. Wild, Bear Grills isn't even the best "survivalist" on the show. Think about it, while he is bounding around, jumping off of cliffs and stuff, his camera crew have to be doing the very same stuff he does, with 75+ pounds of camera gear on their backs! This is why I like Dirty Jobs, on that show Mike Rowe is constantly giving kudos to his camera guys for having to do the same stuff he does, often in even worse circumstances given their additional burdens.

On Survivorman, Les does his own camera and audio work, so the same criticisms don't apply. It's a great show.

I like Survivorman, too, but it really has to be acknowledged that the name is kind of a misnomer. It should be called Barely Survivorman, because the poor guy doesn't ever find anything to eat and comes off his adventures in pretty rough shape.

But, he survives, completely by himself. Who knows what's going on behind the scenes of the other shows with the cameramen and whoever else is off camera. Les Stroud is all alone, so the way he survives is the most realistic, which is why I enjoy it the most. Most likely, after being stranded for a week or so, you will be in rough shape and not be going home full of food and fresh water.

Its basically one man, all alone with no camera crew. He carries along his own camera equipment, sets up, and moves the cameras around himself.
He goes to pretty much the same types of places as all the other survivor shows and tries to survive for a week.
Same point as man vs wild, except he's alone in the wild. And he's not as crazy as Bear "cliff jumper, drink my own urine, jump in frozen lake water" Grylls. He seems normal and down to earth.

    Re: New Survivorman!

I've always thought Bear Grills is more of a Fear Factor Super Champion than actual survivor type. Most of that is because there's a camera crew.

Mike Rowe is a good ****. He doesn't make things out to be thing's they're not. It's a dirty job, he does it, and moves on while acknowledging the crew.

I've never seen Survivorman. This sounds a little more realistic.

It's all snark from here on out

Problem I have with Les is that he has the personality of a gnat. Zero charisma.
