Can't say I blame them, there are really only 2 players in the draft that could turn out to be really good...

But Irving and Williams would be two very good players to build around.

Idk about Williams. If he plays PF he's small. If he plays SF he's too slow and lacking in ball handling skills. Also the Jazz pbp announcer tweeted yesteday that Williams doesn't play hard.

    Twitter
I have been watching Derrick Williams for the last 2 hours -- HE DOESN'T PLAY HARD !!!!!!!

Re: Cleveland looking to get the top two picks

If I'm Cleveland and the rumored Rip Hamilton deal goes through I would keep the 4 and 8 picks instead of moving them for the 2. I don't think Williams is a clear cut enough #2 pick to give up two top 8 picks for. I think they'd be better off taking Irving and another college kid at the 4, and then banking a top notch foreign guy with the 8.

Re: Cleveland looking to get the top two picks

either way if they nab Irving/Williams, 1&2 or Irving/Kanter, 1&4, they'll do just fine. All three of those guys will be at the miniumum solid NBA starters. IF Williams can handle the SF position, his ceiling is through the roof, if he's and NBA power forward, then he's a defensive liability, but great scorer

Re: Cleveland looking to get the top two picks

Anyone past the top two picks are serious crap shoots, the to two are far from guarantees, but seem to be rslightly better than the other losers available. I thought we had gotten past the point where gm's would take flyers on overrated foreign players.

Re: Cleveland looking to get the top two picks

I think I would if I was Cleveland and Id get the 8th pick from Detroit I would offer the 4th and Miami's first next year for the 2nd pick. I wouldn't do the trade if I was the Wolves but If im the Cavs I try to do that instead of 4 and 8 for number 2.

Re: Cleveland looking to get the top two picks

This might go down as one of the worst drafts in NBA history in a few years. Nobody looks like a potential star.

I would give it to them. the 1,4, and 8 picks in one draft could turn an entire franchise around. I don't care if the draft is weak, you have to trust your guys to go pick up the right players.
