    Apartment Lease ???

So I moved into an apartment in August last year and signed a 6 month lease. I have not renewed my lease and just been going month to month. A couple weeks ago I went to put in my 30 days notice and they informed me they only accept them on the first day of each month. I did read through my old lease and there is verbage stating that leases renew on full month terms. My questions is this... Since I only signed a 6 month lease and it expired in January do the same terms written in the lease still apply? Anybody dealt with anything like this before or anybody own rental properties themselves that knows how it works?

    Re: Apartment Lease ???

I know when I went month to month years ago, the same terms applied from the existing lease. I just paid a bit more because I was month to month vs. signing a long term agreement. If you didn't sign something new, I would believe it would default to the existing lease agreement.

Kind of what I thought as well. Just wanted to make sure as it's a difference of paying $572 or $903 so would be some savings on my part if somehow I could have it prorated for just the 19 days I was going to be there in June if my notice was accepted the day I went in. Thanks!

If you notified May 12th, you'd be liable for all of June's rent in my opinion.

You won't be able to pay 12/30ths of June's rent unless you have a completely lax landlord or management company.
