    transplanting asparagus

Has anyone had any luck either planting or transplanting asparagus? I am assuming that transplanting would be ready sooner than planting. Any suggestions?

Yes, we've had luck transplanting. Dig DEEP. Take as much root as possible. Don't harvest the first year or two (some pubs say 3 years). Apply manure compost every year.

    Re: transplanting asparagus

we just planted roots last year, and could harvest some this year, but not enough to make very much, so i'm gonna wait another year. it has really filled out though from last year to now. i wasn't sure i'd ever get any, but we've had good luck so far with it.
