    ESPN is going downhill

I can't stand all of the annoying anchors/analysts/commentators they have now.

-Matt Millen---worst GM in NFL history is the best they can do?
-Jalen Rose---not even a has been but a never was...Have another beer and drive J-Rose
Dicky V, Mel Kiper, Todd McShay, Chris Berman, Skip Bayless, Tony Kornheiser, Jim Rome, Michael Wilbon, Woody Paige must have an office pool to see who can be the biggest doucher working for the network.

Also, it seems like every day they have somebody that does something stupid working for the network

    Rose---OWI
    Steve Phillips---banging a hideous intern
    Beadle/Andrews---Major feud
Matthew Barnaby---beating his wife or whatever

End of my rant, I just can't believe how far downhill the programming has gone for this network in the past few years.

    Re: ESPN is going downhill

ESPN has been horrible for close to a decade now.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

    Re: ESPN is going downhill

It has been bad for a long time, but you're right.. I think they're at an all-time low. Its a shame theres no competition for them..that equals no accountability. They force whatever garbage they want down your throats knowing you have no other options for sports.. Skip Bayless is on tv around 3 hours a day now. There is no excuse for that.

I finally stopped watching SC, and all of their other BS shows(exception is Sportsnation once a week..need my beadle fix) and just watch the games. NBA playoffs are a perfect example. Sports are all ESPN does, and TNT blows their crew out of the water.

I disagree. I didn't really see it ten years ago, but I like it a lot! Just my opinion.

If you are in your twentys then you probably think it's great(not a slam...it's their target). It's been bad for a long time.

ESPN is what it is. I have no problem with their sports broadcasts and don't watch anything else. In fact I think they do a great job on the broadcast side.

ESPN has sucked for a long time. I dont get how Stuart Scott and the like have a job. Berman is just as bad as Vitale also.

Sad to say, but no there isn't on TV. It all sucks. ESPN radio is worse. I believe this is their day. Mike & Mike interview Van Pelt, Gotlieb, & Cowheard. Then Cowherd comes on and interviews Gotlieb & Van Pelt. Van Pelt Comes on the air and interviews Gotlieb & Cowherd. Etc, etc. It is terrible radio. Sad thing, if you want to listen to guy/sports talk it's your only choice. There are better choices on radio, but ESPN radio comes in and takes over a whole radio station (590) on a bundle package and there you sit.

    Re: ESPN is going downhill

I kind of like Mike&Mike and Cowherd's radio shows. It's not something you can listen too for hours on end, but it's good for 10 minutes here and there.
Sportscenter used to be one of my favorite shows, but it's so filled with dumb catch phrases now. It's like the Blue Collar Comedy tour doing sports. If you think repetitive catch phrases are funny, you probably like ESPN, and you're probably a **** head.

I hadn't heard about Jalen Rose getting an OWI, but he's still one of the very few ESPN personalities I like or can stomach.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

It sucks they high jacked the mighty 590, fortunately I don't travel Western Iowa much anymore. 590 even comes in here in the western suburbs of DM.

I can't handle SC much anymore. Ever since ESPN went to the "24 hour" news cycle where they are live a lot the time it has really gone down hill, not to mention a lot of their talent is sub par. I used to enjoy tuning into SC and getting a boat load of highlights in 20-30 minutes, now if you tune it it's like they pick two games and spend 1 minute on highlights, 5 minutes on analysis, 5 minutes on press conference and repeat...

    Give me back my highlights!
