What I really, really hate about Iowa State

I live in Omaha, and I have found that I have to pay, and pay, and pay to get the same coverage that Husker fans get for free with their team. I even have to pay just to listen to the games. I resent that.

Tried every radio station that looked even remotely close to Omaha for the Kent State game, which included 960 out of Shenandoah, 540 out of Ft. Dodge, and FM stations out of Atlantic and Denison. 960 was about half static and half John Walters for the first half, then about 90% static for the secod half. I guess the Cyclone Radio Network just figures that SW Iowa/Omaha is all Huskers all the time so why even bother. It is pretty annoying.

I was under the impression that the move to 100.3 was going to cure that.

Check how much those husker fans have to pay to buy season tickets. Then ask how much they have to donate to get those season tickets. I bet if you take that number you'll find that it's more than enough to buy ISU season tickets, the gasoline to get to Ames for every game, and even have enough left to buy some cheese to go with your whine.

There's a reason they have some free airtime, and better coverage. They have more money. When ISU starts filling the stadium consistently, and getting the type of income and donations that NU does, you'll start to see the perks.

I live west of 156th St in Omaha and KMA comes in perfectly fine 99% of the time. Can't comment on last weeks game, as I was in Ames.

As a side note, I would never want that much "free coverage" for ANY team I was a fan of. I don't give a rat's ***** about how many bowel movements the top rated high schooler at X position, who is a Husker commit had today. That is the crap that we get all day. 365 days a year. And most of you think Hawk fans are bad....

As an example a front page sport section article in today's OWH tried to horn in on the Appilachian State win, and get a little Corhusker glory for it. I guess their head coach was a Cornholer assistant back in the early 70's. Prior to that he was a Hayden Fry assitant at SMU. If Hawk fans were as bad as Cornholers they would be taking credit for the App State win!

I am sure without the stint in Lincoln he would never have had a chance against Michigan.

And it would solve so many more problems than just Cyclone coverage!

Sorry you couldn't get the game and I know its very aggravating...Come to think of it I have never been over in CB for a night game ... They've all been saturday afternoon games ...Some of those stations have to power down at night and I think that is the problem no 1... Problem no 2 is that our AD should get a local radio station in Omaha to carry the games at least for football and basketball.

Good luck and I sympathize with your plight over in Council Bluffs and Omaha....

Here in Glenwood(not far from Omaha at all)I listened to the first quarter of the Kent State game on KMA and it was coming in perfectly fine.(until I started adjusting the dial to change the tone of John Walters voice)Then I realized it was on Mediacom Channel 22, and started listening to it there.
