    Neiderbach Verdict

Looks like the jury is done deliberating in this child abuse case and the verdict should be read soon.

Sad, sad story. If truly guilty, I hope he ends up with a long, long sentence with a cell mate with a long, long member.

Enjoy prison and I hope your fellow inmates give you the same treatment you so graciously gave your son. You deserve it.

Trust me..as bad as it sounds, he wont last. I'll put money on it. He'll take the easy way out of doing the time.

    Re: Neiderbach Verdict

Put him in prison for life; it won't heal that little kid. Whatever punishment Jonas Neiderbach receives pales in comparison to what his son will endure in his life. This whole story just makes my stomach churn.

This is one of the saddest stories I have ever seen. My heart breaks for that child.

No he won't. He is a piece of **** and would hurt others but not himself. He kept making choices that sent him back to jail and he didn't care. Prison won't be too bad for him either. As sad as it sounds, he will be able to find a group of other guys like him in prison and it will be easy time.

Horrible story. I'm happy to see the news coverage end. I'm not sure why the local news feels the need to show multiple pictures of an abused and injured baby every time they talk about it.

Actually I've heard that child abusers are usually singled out in prison by other prisoners and are among the most likely to get the crap beaten out of or "shanked."

I have my fingers crossed that this is true. He has earned it.

I worked in a prison for a couple years and would disagree. They may not be accepted by the general population, but there are enough child abusers/molesters that they stick together.

    Re: Neiderbach Verdict

Saw some testimony from this guy's dad on the news. The dad was a total ***-hat on the stand. Having been on a couple juries, that kind of thing makes an impression and doesn't go over very well.

Not that there wasn't plenty of other solid direct evidence to nail him in this case, but the dad probably ended up helping the prosecution.

Malpractice lawsuit contends doctors missed Neiderbach baby’s abuse | Des Moines Register Staff Blogs

And now the obligatory "we don't have enough money to pay for the care of this child, so we need to blame some people with deep pockets so we can get a settlement" lawsuit has been filed.
