    Favorite John Candy movie

This weekend there was a lot of 80s(john hughes) movies on and one of them was Uncle Buck. I think i've seen that one the most out of all his movies. Was curious what other peoples favorites are. Films that he has a lead role in specifically, can't count Blues Brothers or Vacation.

For me i think Uncle Buck. Close second is Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. The ultra dramatic last 2-3 mins is what bumped it down for me. I like the story, just not the sappy over the top reunion at the end with steve martin and his wife.

yeah it's hard to not include the small roles in the really good flicks. Stripes is one where it's right on the edge

Spaceballs and Stripes should count- if only because without him, those movies struggle for the extra spice.

Best scene though is candy eating the steak in the great outdoors, however, when I was 8, the water skiing was the ****.

    Re: Favorite John Candy movie

Cool Runnings was the first Candy movie I saw when it came out when I was 8 years old. Uncle Buck, PTA, and he had a role in Blues Brothers.

    Died WAY too young.

Great Outdoors was the first that came to my mind, but yeah, Cool Runnings, Spaceballs, Blues Brothers, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles - he was a classic and is missed.

I'd have to go with Uncle Buck, but Who's Harry Crumb was really funny (I thought).

Great Outdoors for me. Planes, Trains and Automobiles was enjoyable more for me because of Steve Martin, but he was good because of JC.

One of my favorite parts from GO sorry about quality of video.

    Re: Favorite John Candy movie

I watched most of Uncle Buck on Starz last night. That was a great flick. For me, I'd probably go...

    1. Spaceballs
    2. Uncle Buck
    3. Great Outdoors
    4. Who's Harry Crumb

I saw someone mention Nothing But Trouble earlier. Is that widely considered a great, or even good, movie? I agree that it had a great cast, but the movie itself did nothing for me.

In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.
