Seneca out as backup at Seattle?

Just saw on PTI that the Seahawks are reportedly interested in trading for Mark Brunell to be the backup to Hasselbeck. They didn't state that Seneca is on the trading block, though.

Looking for a link right now....

Re: Seneca out as backup at Seattle?

ya i saw somthing like this on yahoo.. it wouldnt make sense to me...

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

It would make a TON of sense.

Seattle is finally ready to get Seneca on the field. :-)

Does it mean they want Seneca to play another position? or trade him? It seems a bit curious.

Seattle interested in Brunell - Rumors - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

Nothing much on it yet. But I agree, this could be a good thing for him.

Re: Seneca out as backup at Seattle?

People close to the Seahawks have stated that Seneca would be the best WR on the team if they chose to play him there, but they don't want to risk him getting hurt, in case Hasselbeck went down.

Seneca's line from the final pre-season game:
    12 for 26 181 yards, 2 int and 1 td

    He played 3 quarters.

The availability of Leftwich could be an option too. I really hope Seattle gets someone in there so Seneca can get on the field.

    That would make sense.

Re: Seneca out as backup at Seattle?

Brunell has lost it, he's no good anymore. Seneca won't be switching positions, because Seattle's 3rd stringer is horrid too. Even Holmgren said Seneca was better than most backups.

Re: Seneca out as backup at Seattle?

With the Chiefs QB situation a mess he could probably start right away if they traded him to KC. Croyle has looked bad in preseason and Huard not much better either.

Re: Seneca out as backup at Seattle?

Is it too early to pick up Seneca as a WR in my fantasy football league? I really don't think Brunell is better than Wallace at this point. Maybe five years ago. I would much rather see him traded to KC, or somewhere he would start.

The Falcons really need him at the moment!
