    Nick Nurse

Nick Nurse just got a shoutout by Kevin Blackistone as a replacement coach for Phil Jackson in LA...

First off, love the Iowa Energy connection. Second, any chance he gets a look?

I saw that too. I think LA needs a veteran coach. Someone stepping into this situation will little to no exp. is coaching suicide.

    Re: Nick Nurse

It seems like Brian Shaw has been groomed for the head coaching spot for the last couple years, so I suppose he'll have every chance to win it. I don't think it will matter much if the Lakers can't blend in a little youth with their vets this offseason. Outside of a couple spurts, they looked old and disinterested for the better part of the season. Kobe is such a huge ****** personality, and his ego might force LA to just pin their hopes on him even as he gets older and his skills start to decline.

To make a successful jump as a HC from the NBA D-league to being the HC of the premiere NBA franchise would probably be too much for even Nick Nurse to handle. I can see him being hired as an assistant coach for the Lakers, but not the Head Coach.

If NN is hired as an NBA HC, a franchise like the Timberwolves, the Bobcats, or some other struggling team would most likely to take a chance on him IMO. Hopefully there will be new management and/or ownership in place as well.

    Re: Nick Nurse

I'd like to see him get some consideration from the Indiana Pacers. Frank Vogel did an ok job, but 20-18 against a very soft schedule won't cut it. I think NN could do great things there developing a collection of young talent.

I met Nick a couple weeks ago and asked him if he was headed to the NBA. He said, he wasn't sure what he was going to do. It was just after the Energy won the D league.
