    Mark Turgeon to Maryland?

That's the latest twitter rumor. More Big XII turmoil the better.

    Re: Mark Turgeon to Maryland?

There were reports of Turgeons frustration at the lack of attendance there despite success, not a big surprise if he takes another job.

Good for us though if TAMU has to go searching for a new coach this late in the year.

If Maryland offered, I wouldn't think twice about leaving A&M

I'd leave in a heartbeat as well. A&M doesn't give a crap about basketball unless they're playing Texas.

    Re: Mark Turgeon to Maryland?

This would be fantastic for ISU. We really need 1 or 2 of these south schools to go through a down period and with MT at A&M that won't happen. The dude can flat out coach. I hope like hell he leaves...that would be sweet.

    Re: Mark Turgeon to Maryland?

This would be awesome for us.

    A&M has two basketball fanbases:

    1. Those that have always followed basketball and know that things are good in Turgeon's hands (the smaller group)
    2. Those that have only followed the past few years and don't like to be told that attendance sucks by their coach (the large group)

Group #1 has that sick oh **** feeling that they could really get set back if he leaves and Group #2 doesn't give a **** what happens because "we can get anyone and be good".

He's playing third fiddle now thanks to the Women's team winning a national championship.

    Re: Mark Turgeon to Maryland?

Twitter rumors think he's the guy but the guy that runs Texags.com doesn't think it will happen:

    Twitter - Billy Liucci

The Terps have apparently targeted A&M's Mark Turgeon but I can confirm that he was not in Maryland today, as reported elsewhere
Turgeon worked VERY hard to convince Loubeau to return to A&M. Things can change but I don't think he leaves for Maryland,..
...just like he didn't for Oregon, Tennessee and N.C. State openings despite being aggressively pursued by each.

I'd rather be third fiddle to Kansas and Texas than Duke and North Carolina.

    Re: Mark Turgeon to Maryland?

E-aTm-e doesn't deserve a good coach like Turgeon. Their attendence and support is a joke. I hope he leaves and aTm goes back to the bottom where they belong in hoops. If he does leave, this only helps ISU get back to the top of the conference. And quickly too, starting this next season with our solid recruits/transfers.

I like how ISU ALWAYS has amazing attendance and fan support really ever since the Johnny Orr era . We deserve a winner and I believe Hoiberg is just that. Time to get back to the top of the conference again where we belong, like when Larry was running the show.

    Go Clones!

    Twitter - Billy Liucci

Doing my best detective work on this one and, if you ask me, Mark Turgeon and Bill Byrne met somewhere this morning. Both are MIA thus far.
    Byrne is A&M's AD.

    Re: Mark Turgeon to Maryland?

Twitter - Brent Zwerneman: Beat Writer covering the Aggies of Texas A&M for the San Antonio Express-News and Houston Chronicle

Still at Reed Arena and Mark Turgeon hasn't been here all morning. Insiders here are in the dark on his whereabouts.
Coach Turgeon could clear all of this up with one tweet.
