PSA: Leaving your head height cabinets open isn't the brightest idea in the world

Turns out that doing so may at some point in time lead to a roughly corner of cabinet door shaped indentation in the top of your head and having to spend time cleaning blood off of your kitchen floor.

Been there, kinda. Lived with two roommates for a while who rarely, and I mean like once every three or four months, would shut a cabinet door. Drove me absolutely crazy every time I entered the kitchen and at least 8 of 10 cabinet doors were open.

Ironically, I was never the "victim" and each of them did it many, many times but only drew blood a few times. One included an ER trip as he split the top of his head clean open and fainted. Yet they still continued to leave doors open.

Try being tall and living with short roommates.

This is a real danger for me, as I keep my glassware in the cabinet right above the dishwasher. When I empty the dishwasher, I like to put the glasses right where they go - so I have to be aware of the open cabinets. I've had a few close calls, but luckily haven't injured myself yet!

I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago. Almost knocked myself out!

You've been in OK too long. Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come.

Why is it the first thing you do after dinging yourself is to look around to see if anybody saw you do it? Usually there is a lot more drama if someone is there.

My grandma actually suffered a blood clot in her brain from doing this.
