Rajon Rondo says hello to anyone who says DG is too skinny.

Kevin Durant begs to differ. If you call play ball and have a lot of potential you can get taken early. Diante has both of those characteristics, but he has been held back for so long.

Also Reggie Miller! Hoiberg has even compared DG in build to Miller!

Ya, I think it's a load of **** when people say he's too skinny to play in the NBA. When you have his height, ball handling skills and the ability to get to the rim, teams are going to give you a look. Not a lot of players have that kind of skill set.

He played 40 minutes a game this year in the Big 12. being skinny is not an issue.

Rashard Lewis, Wesley Johnson, Rondo, Ginobli, Parker, Aleen Iverson, Durant, Miller. Do I need to go on. I don't think Garrett will be a first round pick either but it sure as hell won't be because he is too skinny. Also, nobody is drafting people with the intention of bulking them up so that they can become something they have never been. There aren't enough picks or quality players to do that.

Not every PG is Sharron Collins. You can be thin and make up for it with your length and quickness. DG has that ability.

If he had four years of running an NBA style pro offense + Hoiberg's help with his shot, he would be a highly attractive choice for an NBA club going into the draft. Right now he is just an intriguing project.

Do you think Hoiberg might have had him get in the gym to add size(if this was needed?), as he's been in the NBA. By the way, his size is fine.

I think the thing that people are missing with DG's build is that if you are quick and/or fast, you go around people. If you are slow, you need the extra muscle to create space.

I think he could use strength/size to help him finish layups. You can't tell me that if had 10-15 more lbs. that it wouldn't help.

It would help, but it's not a deal breaker. Much easier to add size than speed and quickness.

Re: DG is impressing some scouts

DG needs to be watching Memphis this post season and take note of what Grievis Vasquez is doing. Vasquez had a better college career and is a little taller and bulkier, but that's the type of player DG needs to model himself after. Taller PG who gives you good minutes off the bench and uses his length to defend smaller PG's.

Regardless, DG is going to need some seasoning in the D-League, but he has a chance to ultimately catch on.

I think DG gets invited to a teams summer league if the nba doesn't go into a lockout. He will be sent likely to the NBA D league for a little more work but I hope he gets drafted but im not holding my breath. Also Minnesota doesn't have a 2nd rd pick

The lockout and the potential lack of NBA sponsored summer leagues is going to hurt guys like DG who aren't 1st round draft picks. DG might be better off immediately trying to hook up with an overseas team for bigger bucks than what he could get in the NBA and D-League and spend a year or two overseas.

Also, there is really no difference in being a 2nd round pick and an undrafted free agent, the undrafted free agent might be at an advantage as he can pick and choose his team to sign with. Neither get guaranteed money.
