No doubt. I enjoy watching them squirm. I'm just curious to know what the endgame will be? How far will they fall, by the time things have played out? Will, they brush it off quickly, or are we witnessing the death of a football giant?

They should get punished hard now after what they others have done. However, I hope they get off easy again so that it won't open a way for Nebraska and Iowa to win the Big 10.

Nothing to see here folks. Lets focus on Boise State's women's tennis team now...

If this keeps up Gene might be asked to leave with his football coach.

I don't care if Nebraska wins the Big 10 or not. They couldn't win the Big 12 the last few years and it would show how weak the Big 10 is if they do. I just find it funny that they can't beat Texas but we sure did.

Ohio State needs to be hit hard. Players selling off things for tattoos, coach that knew about it and never reported it, players getting cars. Hmmmmm Just that tattoo thing would mean death penalty for a school like ISU or a lower BCS school that the NCAA wants to make an example out of.

It would be refreshing to see a big school take a fall. USC should of been hit harder then what it was last year. Time for Ohio State to get hammered. Then Auburn.

Also... Just asking.. But anyone remember Jamal Tinsley driving around an Escalade when he has at college. His Sr. year he had a sweet ride that he wasn't shy about driving around campus.

I kind of hope they stop finding things so that I'm not so disappointed/outraged when they're let off with no significant punishment.

This is getting very serious for ohio state. If the NCAA determines a lack of institutional control by ohio state heads will role. Tressel and Smith for sure but probably the school presudent as well.

Re: More trouble for THE Ohio State University?

This petty stuff happens everywhere, and so actually I am disgusted this is still in the news. I know a lot of you are awaiting the hammer to drop on some major university, and that is completely understandable. However, this is nitpicking compared to buying star recruits/players for $200,000, and then winning a national championship for your school. Yes...I am talking about the lawless south, where you can graduate just by signing up and paying your dues.

I really wish the witch hunt from the NCAA, and on this board, would focus on the correct targets first. Ohio State, and most other universities who are doing the same thing, should be punished, but we shouldn't forget who should get it first.

Smith gained a reputation for fixing schools that were in trouble, namely ASU. He appeared to be Teflon coated at OSU while Tressel and the players received suspensions. 50 suspect car sales seems too large to go unnoticed. OSU oversight is lacking. Smith should be in trouble.

He knew he was getting drafted, was likely to make very good money as a higher pick & his future 'agent/representation' fronted him an advance on money he knew he'd get after the draft in order to get some wheels....at least that's the story I heard, although it still seems like a fishy situation, regardless.

i personally don't remember the escalade until after we were beat by hampton either. i do remember he had a busted little blue car his jr year, maybe part of his sr year as well. he used to "hang out" with a girl that was friends with some chicas i ran around with, and i remember seeing him in that blue car on numerous occasions.

Though these seem to be very serious violations, there's no way they will get what SMU did. Now, if penalties are given and they do it again, yes, but not for what the NCAA will consider a first offense.
