"We embrace that challenge and what it presents to us. Im going to approach all 12 games this way: Were going to win them all. If we prepare and then go out and execute, were going to win all 12. Now how many are we going to end up with at the end of the year? I dont know, and youre right, I wont put a number on it."- Paul Rhoads on having the toughest schedule in the Big 12

He must have been really bummed that Jordan Williams is staying in the draft.

You would think they would hire someone from his current staff.

Nah, there are way too many high profiled names that would be interested in this job.

I think they go the interim coach route for this year, Maryland is a big time job in a great recruiting area. You don't want to be picking through left overs to find a coach in May.

On twitter Gottleib said if Williams had his say, Mike Lonergan from Vermont might have a shot

    Re: Gary Williams to retire?

This simply means that the NCAA is about to break the story that Maryland has had numerous major NCAA violations in their men's basketball program. Like a wallstreet CEO Williams is jumping ship before the storm hits.

Or it means he decided to leave once Jordan Williams stayed in the draft.

I would be shocked if they go this route. Too big of job. 3rd best job in the ACC.

    Re: Gary Williams to retire?

Not the best timing though, you gotta keep your recruits and guys now or next year could be a waste. Interim could be an option, but they also could have someone lined up already.
